I was told the theme had to do with Burning Man...so I went all Zozobra and Old Man Gloom in its face, based on the festivals held in New Mexico.

Two pieces of mine will be auctioned off on August 14th at Esca's Wine Bar in Middletown, CT. Any proceeds will go towards Combat Wounded Veterans and their families at the Fisher House Foundation.The Fisher House (there are actually 46 "houses" around the country) is an organization that provides free housing on the grounds of military hospitals and VAs to families of american soldiers that have come back from the wars wounded or injured. These houses allow these families to be closed to their loved ones during the rehabilitation and recovery time.

What the heck is going on? I'm ready to continue illustrating this 2nd book which has been bugging me for a while now. I've been working hardcore hours recently and have no other excuse for shying away from creative endeavours. I have been playing music again though. I also will start working on some pieces for an unnamed Nature Show we'll be having in the Gallery sometime in April, curated by Erika Arneson.

And I've finally joined facebook. Godspeed.

So...my two new pieces will be featured in the Art Without Judges Show at the MAC650 Gallery tomorrow evening, from 7PM-10PM! Come on down and support your local artists!

Also, The Book Bower in Main Street Market (at 38 Main Street, Middletown) will be carrying the last few copies of my book, SHUT! Linda is a sweet lady with an interesting selection of used and rare books books snuggled in the historic indoor marketplace
4 blocks south of the Gallery.

DJ's Collectibles & Comic's in North Haven (1 Lincoln St) will also be carrying the last remaining copies of my book, too! Aside from a kickass selection of rare books, signed baseballs, neat cards and ephemera, they're nice guys, too. Check 'em out!

Here's an image of the new comic I've been working on. Theodore shows up to work and wonders why his boss is a grotesque monster with a human mask? why are his co-workers zombie/ worker bees? WTF in extremis, mate?

PS: The gallery is having a re-opening show this Thursday, the 16th, at 7PM, to show off the new artists we've acquired! There's still copies of my book floating around, so pick one up before it's gone!

The show was more than I could imagine! Roughly 75-100something people in a three hour period visited, milled around, and bought art from this wonderful group show, put on by a great collection of talented people.

My parents flew in the day before and helped my girlfriend and I through the worst of it. I stayed up the previous night, hand inking and painting each cover while the artists hung their work in the gallery. I drove my parents and Melissa crazy while they glued each covers onto 40 limited edition books. I've always wanted to put a book together, and there are now a few lucky people out there with numbered editions of their very own! Thanks to Joey Marsocci of Steam Gear Labs for helping with the trying and dedicated process of scanning each page AND for hooking me up with the kind folks at DEL PRINTINGin Portland, Connecticut. The work was impeccable and detail oriented!

A few limited edition inked tiles of musicians were sold, as well as a limited promotional tile for the book! I'm thinking this is the exact kind of motivation which creates a sequel. Good conversations about the creative process, overall malaise against an uncaring world, and stimulating interest for new pieces were discussed throughout the long night.

And then I get commissioned to make this illustration for a metal show on the 20th of this month at the MAC650 Gallery from Ivan Soobitsky, a cool guy from the band BRIGHT and the Imperial Productions promotions company! Basically, I'll look for any excuse to draw monsters ripping things apart. Especially guitars.

Come check out the gallery while the work is still fresh and the book copies are plentiful!

Next Friday is the As Yet Unnamed Art Show, held at the MAC650 Gallery. Following hot on the heels of the uber-successful (and multi-spectacular) SteamPunk Bizarre Extravaganza, this group show has got me only too excited to unveil 9 new pieces, plus my first self published, illustrated book!

Well, well, well...etcetera. There's a show coming up a hell of a lot sooner than I think. June5th to the end of July, to be precise. It'll be at the MAC650 Gallery (650 Main Street, Middletown CT) hosted by some fine people who help operate the North End Artist's Cooperative. Good folks, good art, good food (hopefully), good time (predictably). The show will be open themed, with eleven (XI) artists total, non-juried and showcasing young and fresh talent. Seeing as how the art world thrives on young, fresh, raw (and other fetishized adjectives reserved normally for food) talent, this will be no exception. I'll have some new pieces, some of which I've been debuting on this site, all revolving around the landscape/ found lumber/ broken city-scapes theme.

So soon? What is this, Update McCity-Place all of a sudden?

Well here's the finished piece I was working on previously...

and here's the next one, soon to be rolling off of the grimy, slow, and gummy production line...

Both of these items will be displayed soon (like June and July soon) at a location nearest you. Namely the mac650 artSPACE, a sweet little spot nestled in the quaint north end of Main Street, Middletown. A few friends, co-workers, and I will be working on dazzling the audiences with some new pieces in a new group show extravaganze. Some names we've been kicking around: The Knot in the Face Collective and The No-Support Group presents the Double Sided Dill Show. I'm a fan already.

Kudos to a the lovely Carrie Swider for her knock-out Wandering Uterus show, of which I had the privilege of attending. Not too shabby. The work was beautiful and new, the sounds hip and entertaining, the people plenty and pleasant...

By the way, I do apologize for the infrequent updates. Here at the production facility, things have ground to a gummy halt, due to my own pursuits of laziness, tiresome wage slaving, and a general avoidance of all things easel-y.

Moving right along! Exclusive shots from the upcoming (don't hold your breath) Comic! Featuring characters I've held close to my heart, for the most part hidden from prying eyes, for the past 14 years. They'll see the light of day soon enough, one may hope.

So...my first blog posting? Calls for a celebration! Here are the three paintings I debuted at the North East Artist Co-op HAUNTED GALLERY Showing, this past Friday the 10th. The event was coordinated by a Mr. Joseph Dinunzio, local artist to the stars. Carrie Swider, Melissa Williams, Joe Marcossi, Ivan Bright, Barbara Toce and some others (including yours truly) helped organize and decorate one helluva show!
